Te Māra Hūpara is the first traditional Māori Playground in a public park. It is located in Walmsley Park in Mount Roskill and developed with the assistance of traditional Māori games expert Harko Brown and includes a tōrere tree for climbing, giant upturned ancient kauri log roots or te ko-uru, several dozen hīkeikei to hop, jump and walk over, and a series of wera-te-paatu to practice agility, speed and balance.
