Millennium Bureau of Canada Grant
Pioneer Memorial Park was created as a result of a referendum on the November, 1999 municipal election ballot.
This park is located on the southwest corner of Ioco Road and Heritage Mountain Boulevard, and east of Knowle Street, across from the Social Recreation Centre parking lot.
The park area was at one time the location of several single-family homes. Many of the trees in this area were once part of the residents’ landscaping. Since the park’s development, the landscaping has been enhanced with native plants and trees using Naturescape principles.
The Trans Canada Trail proceeds through the park, connecting users to the City Hall complex to the west and towards Newport Market Square and Coquitlam on the east.
There are several picnic tables and benches, a small gazebo, informal pathways and lighting. Parking is available at the Social Recreation Centre to the west of the park.
Park Size 0.8 Hectares
