Profile
The playground at Lord Seaton Park may be modest in size, but packs some serious play value into this neighbourhood gathering space. Working collaboratively with FORREC (formerly Scott Torrance Landscape Architecture), Earthscape developed an exciting rope challenge course for older children with multiple obstacles that require navigation, balance, coordination and strength.
For younger children, log steppers lead to an elevated slide platform. Where typical playgrounds often provide steppers or access routes with equidistant heights, the variety of stepper heights mean that children train their brains to tackle irregular surfaces and make choices as they discover the unlimited number of routes to access the platform.
Going through the rope obstacle course, children will test their skills and gradually improve their motor development each time they visit the playground.
