Profile
Espergærde City is a popular town with many families. The playground is inspired by the idea of a thriving garden that has been watered so much that it has grown out of proportion. Everything – from the huge watering can to the flowers and the grasshopper – is now gigantic, making the kids tiny figures in this fun out-of-scale universe. The playground is challenging and engaging for many different age groups – you can climb, bounce, jump and run here amongst these beautiful objects.
The construction of the grasshopper is 3 meters tall, 8 meters long and 4 meters wide. This structure is for children aged 4-12 years old and offers numerous challenging climbing routes – both inside and outside the play features. Besides the grasshopper, the playground consists of a watering can, different kinds of flowers, blades of grass, leaves on springs and a giant water hose. All of which have been blown out of proportion.
The wings of the grasshopper are made of rope nets, which make it easy for the kids to climb up. They can also climb up the ladder and go inside the grasshopper or take the trip down the grasshopper’s feelers, which serve as two tall fireman’s poles.
The wooden logs shaped like grass and the flowers form an obstacle course, connected by rope enabling kids to climb from one object to the other.
CRAWL AROUND THE GARDEN LIKE A TINY ANT
The big flowers are made for climbing and hiding in or just as a place to take a small break from moving around.
The watering can has three fireman’s poles for the kids to slide down. The steel tubes resemble water pouring out of the can.
