This beautiful park has wide open green spaces with walkways and bikepaths, a large, fun and colourful playground, a loop track, dog walking areas, toilets, and a cafe. All the play equipment is disability friendly.
Close to Hamilton’s central city, the domain is a key destination for residents and visitors, and contributes significantly to the character of Hamilton. The lake and vegetation provide a break from the surrounding urban environment. The domain is set on 101 hectares and is an important site for leisure and recreation. It has a popular destination playground, and privately operated cafe and function facility.
The lake itself is 2m – 6m deep and is used for many water-based sports and recreation activities, including dragon boating, waka ama, yachting, sea scouts and radio-controlled boat racing.
Hamilton Lake Domain also has a designated off-leash area for dogs.
