Profile
In Pleasanton, Texas, there is a park called Atascosa River Park, sometimes referred to as The River Park or Veterans Memorial Park. Large open areas, numerous basketball courts, a splash pad, sports fields, and, of course, an incredible, themed playground can all be found in the park.
There are two age-appropriate themed structures in the park playground. The largest construction is a train fuelling station with the words “Pleasanton” on the fueling station and “Pleasanton Express” on the train. It is intended for kids aged 5 to 12. This structure also has climbing panels, slides, and above activities. Several freestanding play items, such the Gravity Bowl and Spinner, are also available in the play area for children aged 5 to 12.
The play area for children ages 2 to 5 has a western-themed building with lots of opportunities for dramatic play. A Pony Express United States Mail panel, a “wanted” panel, and more dramatic activity panels are present. Climbing and sliding opportunities abound throughout this structure. Children of all ages and abilities can have fun on themed spring riders, outdoor musical instruments, and swings in the 2–5 year area.
The new play area not only has a theme, but it is also made of recycled, environmentally friendly materials that have the appearance and feel of wood without the need for extra maintenance. A sizable, dilapidated wooden structure that required constant maintenance was replaced by the new playground equipment in the park.
