Profile
Pine Cove Park in Klein, Texas features triple timber towers connected by net bridges and accessed via a bridge or Log Jam climber. Its design is a part of a large activation of public space in this North-West Harris community that includes a multitude of recreational amenities. The playground is a collaborative design with 4&1 Landscape Architecture who gathered community feedback from residents to create a cohesive vision for the community.
Natural materials are featured throughout the park space and are the dominant structural feature of the three large towers. The middle tower can only be accessed via the other towers and they are all connected via net bridges. The centre tower features a net floor, giving the sensation of being suspended high in the tree tops! Each of the three towers are cladded with a wire mesh to allow for easy supervision by caregivers. The towers have exceptionally high play value and feature interior play opportunities with nets, sling seats and ropes to allow climbing opportunities or simply space to hang out with friends.
The towers have a variety of access and egress points depending on ability, ambition and desired challenge level. A custom Log Jam climber provides a more difficult route while the climbing wall, nets and bridge provide easier routes.
Two embankment slides are well suited to younger children who may not yet be confident climbers!
For a nearby park playground with similar towers and climbing features check out Sawmill Lake Club or Bridgeland Park!
